The program is designed to train managers to manage large national, regional and sectoral projects in various spheres of socio-economic life, including international projects. The program is aimed at forming a project-based approach to managing real investments based on a comprehensive multidimensional approach, taking into account the risks of projects. Methods of conducting scientific research on topical management issues are also being studied, including the use of information technologies for analyzing processes and projects using databases, knowledge banks.

Purpose of the educational program

Training of highly qualified personnel in the field of project management and innovation, capable of implementing their professional knowledge, skills and abilities in international and domestic companies, public and research organizations.

Objectives of the educational program

  1. Equip students with the fundamental concepts, theory, principles and best practices of Project Management necessary to increase the productivity of business operations of organizations in a changing environment
  2. Have the skills of project management and the formation of project management features, in-depth analysis of business processes, scientific and pedagogical activities, independent research work, expertise and consulting in the subject area;
  3. have an idea of: the current state and trends in the development of the economy, the basics of scientific and pedagogical activities in the subject area and related fields; modern scientific and innovative achievements of project management
  4. be able to: formulate innovative tasks and apply project management methods for their implementation, evaluate the quality of the project management system, analyze the effectiveness of business processes, use software products to perform project management tasks, bring the results of scientific research to practical application, carry out pedagogical activities; develop recommendations for improving the efficiency and economic evaluation of project management;
  5. be competent: in solving complex professional tasks in project planning and the main stages of design, in the organization of work management, resources, team, project communications, in the methodology of development and implementation of innovative projects in various fields, including the sphere of scientific and pedagogical activity.
  6. to know: the methodology of scientific research in the subject area, the main types and classification of project management, management methods: projects, programs, risks, changes, communications; methods of processing and presenting professionally relevant information, forms and methods of pedagogical activity; modern achievements in the field of information technology application in project management

BC1. to know and be able to use tools for effective and flexible economic analysis taking into account project risks and uncertainties, to be able to monitor the status of the project (i.e. to have up–to-date, complete information about the progress of the project, problem areas, potential risks and opportunities, as well as about the key parameters of the project – timing, cost and implementation of the content), as well as the ability to interact with people involved in the project.

BC2. the ability to develop a methodology in project management to build an end-to-end, consistent process focused on achieving the ultimate goal.

BC3. the ability to organize and optimize in collaboration various departments of the organization, such as IT and management based on project management standards. Be able to formulate and implement IT infrastructure components that ensure the achievement of strategic goals and project support. Possession of project team management and development skills, ability to use information technologies in project management

BC4. the ability to make a budget for the creation and launch of a project, monitor its execution and adjust it. Be able to manage projects, programs, project portfolio, as well as analyze international experience.

PC1. be able to control the processes necessary to ensure that the project meets the needs for which it was undertaken.

PC2. be able to predict and assess risks, develop a plan to respond to changes to reduce the degree of risks.

PC3. be able to interact with each of the stakeholders, be able to build relationships with a team of business analysts, developers and a testing team, manage project procurement and conclude contracts

PC4. know about modern project management methods (Agile / SCRUM), be able to find the optimal method for project implementation, determine the key factor of the project, negotiate with the project team, make decisions based on the risk map using various visualization techniques and structuring information for managerial decision-making.

Learning Outcomes

LO1: knows the role of historical, philosophical and spiritual processes in modern society, approaches to solving problems arising in the course of research activities.

LO2: knows a foreign language at the required academic level to obtain professional information and sufficient communication skills for interpersonal communication using general, business and professional vocabulary for special economic purposes, business meetings and negotiations, project management at the national and international level.

LO3: applies the main provisions, methodology and didactics, designs and organizes the pedagogical process at the university using modern educational and communication technologies based on interdisciplinary and problem-oriented learning.

LO4: applies the main provisions of the psychological laws of management, the specifics of socio-psychological knowledge use and the socio-psychological principle analysis that underlie effective management.

LO5: owns the methods, principles and culture of modern management of innovative projects and business operations; flexible approaches and tools of business models in project management; organizational and managerial decisions and organizational transformations in the process of project management.

LO6: uses the tools and methods of project management, procedures for structuring a project, developing a project estimate, managing time and cost of a project, monitoring the project progress, calculating a project schedule.

LO7: owns the basics of program and project portfolio management.

LO8: applies tools of business analytics, research and analysis of business models and products in order to rationalize business administration of innovative projects.

LO9: carries out project diagnostics and evaluation.

LO10: uses software products to perform project management tasks using modern approaches in the use of information technology systems integrated into project management.
