AMONG GRADUATE STUDENTS OF SCHOOLS OF KAZAKHSTAN
The Republican Competition of Innovative Smart City Projects among high school graduates (10th–12th grades) of the Republic of Kazakhstan (including Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, Republican Physics and Mathematics School, “Bilim-Innovation” lyceums and schools, ZERDE School, Quantum STEM School, IT lyceums, and other schools) is held for the awarding of an educational grant for studying at Astana IT University (LLP).
Based on the competition results, educational grants from the Rector will be awarded for studying at Astana IT University (LLP). The number of grants is determined by the Rector’s order. Winners will receive educational grants and admission to the university, provided they meet the minimum passing score approved by the admissions committee for 2025, depending on the chosen academic program.
For 2025 applicants, the UNT (Unified National Testing) certificate must be from 2025.
Competition language: English.
Identification and development of students’ creative abilities and interest in knowledge in the field of information technology.
– increased interest in research activities and studies;
– identifying and supporting the most talented and gifted young researchers;
– assistance in the formation of the intellectual potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The competition is held on a free topic “Smart City Technologies” (for example, city information system, city digital platform, healthcare, energy, waste management, transport and mobility, urban safety, ecology, etc.)
January to April 2025
Schools/students must complete the online application form (link) in accordance with Appendix 1 of the Regulations. The application must include:
• A project description in English (5–7 pages).
• A YouTube link to a 2-minute video in English describing the project.
Eligible projects must be innovative and use scientific approaches, such as:
• Smart technologies: digitalization of the city.
• Smart roads.
• Development of a tracking device for people with disabilities.
• Smart environmental solutions for the city.
Submissions that do not meet the competition requirements or are incomplete will not be considered.
• On March 17, the list of participants/teams advancing to the second stage will be published on the university’s official website.
Participants will present their projects to an expert panel.
Presentation time: 7 minutes.
Presentation format: free style.
Electronic presentation requirements: MS PowerPoint, 5–6 slides.
