AITU won a £ 10,000 (5.8 million tenge) “Frontiers Champions” grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) to develop scientific potential between scientists from the UK and Kazakhstan on the topic of sustainable smart cities.
Grants are awarded for community-based events such as networking events, webinars, meetings and workshops to expand networks and foster professional development.
A smart sustainable city is an innovative city that uses ICTs to improve living standards, improve the efficiency of activities and services in cities, ensuring that the needs of present and future generations are met in economic, social, environmental and cultural aspects.
