The purpose of the Department's work

The purpose of the Department’s activity is intensive practice-oriented training, training of highly qualified personnel in the field of cybersecurity, telecommunications, the Internet of Things, analog, digital electronics, nanoelectronics and microprocessor technology, automated control systems and robotic complexes. The training is carried out on the following educational programs: Cybersecurity, Smart Technologies, Industrial Internet of Things, Electronic Engineering.

Teaching staff

The Department employs 68 teachers, 62 of them local and 6 foreign. The teaching staff is focused on providing students with high-quality education, and their high qualifications and long-term experience are key components of the successful implementation of educational programs.

Achievements of the Department

One of the most notable achievements of the Department is the FR13NDS TEAM. This is Kazakhstan’s leading CTF TEAM, which holds leading positions in international cybersecurity rankings. It represents Kazakhstan on the world stage and unites 25-30 permanent participants and more than 150 community members.

In 2023, the team ranked 89th among 33,000 teams in the world, rising from 1,158 place in the last three years.

Domestically, the FR13NDS TEAM moved from third place to the first.
