“Smart City” Research and Innovation Center

In the last few years, there has been significant growth in information and communication technologies (ICT) due to the development of both hardware and software solutions. The use of ICT solutions in cities has led to an increase in the efficiency of city operations.

Smart City, is a concept of an innovative city that uses information and communication technologies to improve the quality of citizens’ life and the efficiency of city operations and services. Smart cities must fully meet the needs of present and future generations regarding economic, social, and environmental aspects. Smart City is a city where traditional networks and services become more flexible, efficient, and sustainable with less environmental impact.

Smart cities of the future require intelligent solutions through the development of science and innovation. The joint efforts of the scientific and innovative potential of the University within the Smart City Research Center, namely scientists, innovators, practitioners, and students of the bachelor’s and master’s programs of Astana IT University, will allow the city to offer solutions and technologies, which in the future will make a significant contribution to the development of both the city and the country.

Mission

The primary mission of the “Smart City” Research Center is to bring together scientists, innovators, practitioners, and students to solve applied problems of innovative city development in order to improve the quality of life in cities. The center will introduce information and communication technologies in various aspects of a Smart City to maintain and increase the competitive advantages of the city in particular and the country as a whole.

Goal

Creation of intelligent solutions using information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence for future smart cities through science, innovation, and successful collaborations.
