On October 07–09, 2023, the Summit of the Silk Road University Alliance was held in Xi’an (China). A delegation from Astana IT University headed by Acting Rector S. Omirbayev took an active part in this event.
The summit began with a meeting with the President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Mr. Shuguo Wang, to which the heads of other Central Asian universities were also invited.
Rector of Astana IT University, Mr. S. Omirbaev made a speech at a panel session on the topic “Digital technologies and innovations in higher education.”
As a result of the Summit, Astana IT University became a member of the University Alliance of the Silk Road.
The UASR (University Alliance of the Silk Road) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization aimed at openness and international cooperation in higher education. Till now, more than 150 universities from 37 countries and regions have participated into the alliance which is a global educational platform.
