This section took a special place in the festival program and was prepared by the AITU Department of Cybersecurity. This year, the competition brought together more than 600 participants and 180 teams, creating a truly intense and competitive environment.
Participants competed in a classic cybersecurity contest in the Jeopardy-style CTF format, where teams solve technical challenges of varying difficulty in real time. The challenge categories covered almost all areas of information security: Web, Reverse Engineering, PWN, Cryptography, Forensics, Misc, OSINT, and SCADA.
The leading teams also gained access to the HackCity cyber range and were able to initiate a controlled “emergency event” inside the simulated city. They stopped the Astana LRT train operating in the polygon, shut down oil extraction equipment, and even cut off power in a downtown business center.
The tasks were far from simple — which makes the results even more impressive!
1st place — UniverSea, Academy of Cryptography Techniques (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
2nd place — mimicats, Al-Farabi KazNU
3rd place — Pelmeni, AITU
The teams demonstrated a high level of preparation, the ability to work under pressure, and exceptional skill in solving real cybersecurity threats.
We thank all participants and the AITU team for creating a professional platform that elevates cybersecurity education to a new level!
