A new tLab Anti-APT laboratory has opened at Astana IT University — an innovative platform for studying and simulating cyber threats.
The lab provides students with a secure environment to analyze real attack scenarios, study malware behavior, and develop practical skills in threat detection and incident response.
The platform is used for both education and research. It supports the modeling of APT attacks, zero-day exploits, and targeted malware, making the learning process close to real cybersecurity conditions.
Through user activity emulation — opening attachments, following links, interacting with interfaces — students can observe the full attack chain and safely study malware behavior.
According to Saule Amanzholova, Director of the School of Cybersecurity, the opening of tLab Anti-APT marks an important step in advancing practice-oriented education. Students will gain hands-on experience with real cyberattack scenarios and acquire skills in demand globally.
The tLab Anti-APT lab is part of the School of Cybersecurity and is integrated into AITU’s Information Security and Cybersecurity programs.
