Astana IT University students joined the Halyk Ormany environmental project, which aims to restore and expand green areas in Kazakhstan. The event took place in the Vyacheslavsky Forestry “Zhasyl Aimak” near Astana and was part of a large-scale programme implemented jointly with the Halyk Foundation.
Participants spent the day outdoors planting trees and exchanging ideas on how technology, education and ecology can go hand in hand. Student participation in such initiatives helps to foster environmental responsibility and awareness of their personal contribution to the sustainable development of the country.
“We want every student to feel not only like an IT specialist, but also like a citizen who understands that the future of Kazakhstan depends on our actions today. Planting trees is a symbol of creation and unity, which shapes a culture of caring for the world around us,” emphasised Sapar Toxanov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work.
The campaign is yet another example of the university’s commitment to the principles of sustainable development and social partnership. For AITU students, participating in the Halyk Ormany project is an opportunity to be part of real change, creating a green and healthy future for the country.
