Askar Khikmetov is a graduate of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in Applied Mathematics, Khikmetov brings extensive academic and professional experience to the role. He holds a PhD in Physics and Mathematics and has made significant contributions to the digitalization of higher education. Previously, he served as the head of the International IT University in Almaty and held various leadership positions at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Khikmetov’s research interests focus on turbulence theory, mathematical modeling, and high-performance computing. He has authored over 70 scientific publications and completed an international training program in the UK. His professional experience also includes leading large-scale projects in information and communication technologies and collaborating with major global IT companies.
