As part of the KazHackStan 2026 international conference, a meeting of the Astana AI Council was held. The Council serves as a consultative platform for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence in the capital.
The meeting brought together representatives of government agencies, technology companies, universities, and the expert community. Key areas of focus include scaling AI solutions, developing the city’s digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and talent development.
One of the key areas is AI Human Capital. The Human Capital Development working group is chaired by Altair Akhmetov, Rector of Astana IT University.
Astana IT University continues to contribute to the development of the capital’s AI ecosystem through education, talent development, and the advancement of AI-related competencies.
AI Governance 500: Preparing Kazakhstan’s Digital Transformation Leaders
On 25 September 2026, Astana IT University hosted a training session under the strategic AI Governance 500 programme. The programme brought together 90 political civil servants.
Astana IT University Hosted a Meeting with Harvard Graduate Shadiyar Les
On 28 September 2026, Astana IT University hosted a meeting entitled “How to Build a Strong Academic Profile: Insights from a Harvard Graduate.” The speaker was Shadiyar Les, a graduate of Harvard University.
During the meeting, the speaker shared his experience of studying at Harvard and discussed developing a strong academic profile, making effective use of educational opportunities, and achieving ambitious goals. Particular attention was given to the importance of perseverance, self-confidence, and continuous personal development.
At the end of the event, participants asked the speaker questions and received practical advice on preparing to study at the world’s leading universities.
Astana IT University thanks Shadiyar Les for sharing his valuable experience, engaging in an open dialogue, and holding an inspiring meeting with students.
X Central Asian International Forum on Education Quality Assurance
On October 2, 2026, Astana IT University in Astana will host the X Central Asian International Forum on Education Quality Assurance under the theme “Enhancing Quality in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies: New Horizons in Education”, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).

Alikhan Smailov, Chair of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed gratitude to Anar Yessengeldina for her significant contribution to the development of public audit and congratulated her on the agency’s 30th anniversary.
The letter of appreciation highlights Anar Yessengeldina’s professional contribution to the development of public audit. The leadership of the Supreme Audit Chamber wished her continued professional success, new achievements, and family well-being.
French Delegation Visits Astana IT University: A Course Toward Joint Innovation
The delegation included Sébastien de Courtois, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan; Philippe Jefré, an expert from the French organisation Expertise France; and Alibi Baiturin, Secretary General of the Lumières Foundation. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in education, science, and technology.
Astana IT University hosted a meeting between students and Guliskhan Nakhbayeva, Kazakhstan’s first female International Grandmaster and a member of the National Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, participants discussed the key provisions and principles of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, digital hygiene and security, responsible behaviour in the digital environment, and the role of young people in the development of modern Kazakhstan.
The meeting was held as an open dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and exchange views on topical issues.
Safe and Healthy Week at Astana IT University
From 21 to 25 September, Astana IT University will host Safe and Healthy Week — a week of events dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The programme includes specialist consultations, lectures, workshops, blood donation, and sports competitions.
Astana IT University will conduct its annual mandatory fluorography screening.

Astana IT University and Kyungpook National University (KNU) signed a memorandum of cooperation in Seoul during the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea.
As part of the partnership, a double-degree program has been launched for master’s students in Applied Data Analytics, aimed at training specialists in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies. AITU master’s students will gain international academic experience and earn degrees from both universities — AITU and KNU. The program will expand students’ educational and career opportunities while strengthening international cooperation between the two universities.
