Astana IT University hosted an international conference on project management, digital government, and economic security
On 5-6 June 2026, Astana IT University, in collaboration with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted the International Scientific-Practical Conference “Current Challenges and Solutions in Project Management and Digital Government: Ensuring Financial and Economic Security of the Country”, held within the framework of the AP23489668 research project funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Maturity Model Development for Project Management Offices of Government Bodies to Increase the Share of Successfully Implemented State Programs”.
The conference brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, leading universities, and research centers from Kazakhstan and abroad. Young researchers, master's students, and PhD candidates also actively participated in the event. Scholars and experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Armenia, and Italy presented their research findings and shared practical experience in project management, digital transformation of the public sector, the application of artificial intelligence technologies, and ensuring financial and economic security.
During the plenary session and thematic panels, participants discussed modern approaches to the development of project management offices in government institutions, digital government, the use of artificial intelligence, financial and economic security issues, and international best practices for improving the effectiveness of state program implementation.
As a result of the conference, a set of recommendations was developed to further advance project management practices, enhance digital governance tools, and increase the effectiveness of state program implementation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
