Tele2/Altel and Astana IT University have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fields of IT, telecommunications, and cybersecurity
The agreement is aimed at establishing a strategic and mutually beneficial partnership in the fields of telecommunications, information technology, and cybersecurity. The memorandum formalizes the parties’ intentions to combine education, research, and practice for the joint development of the telecommunications industry and the training of a new generation of specialists.
Within the framework of this cooperation, Astana IT University will develop educational programs based on the needs of the telecommunications market and provide access to its research facilities and laboratories. Tele2/Altel will support the university with industry expertise, participate in educational projects, and create internship opportunities for the university’s top students.
“I am confident that our partnership will be productive and beneficial for the university, our company, and the entire telecom industry in Kazakhstan. We are interested in joint scientific initiatives and research, and we see great potential in this. In the context of rapid digital transformation, such collaboration allows for faster solutions to current challenges,” said Alexander Babichev, CEO of Tele2/Altel.
“Real education emerges where science meets real business. The partnership with Tele2/Altel is exactly such a point of intersection: students and researchers at Astana IT University work not with case studies, but with real business challenges — from optimizing network infrastructure to developing next-generation communication technologies. This cooperation allows the university to advance applied research and the business to gain new technological solutions,” emphasized Altair Akhmetov, Chairman of the Board — Rector of Astana IT University.
