Safe and Healthy Week at Astana IT University
From 21 to 25 September, Astana IT University will host Safe and Healthy Week — a week of events dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The programme includes specialist consultations, lectures, workshops, blood donation, and sports competitions.
Throughout the week, from 08:00 to 16:00, staff and students will be able to undergo fluorography screening at the EXPO parking area.
21 September — opening of the week. The opening of Safe and Healthy Week will take place at 14:00 in the Open Space. From 14:00 to 16:00, the “Support Space” will offer brief consultations at the same venue. The day’s programme will also focus on preventing cyber fraud, money mule activity, and gambling addiction.
22 September — disease prevention and healthy lifestyle day. From 10:00 to 13:00, a blood donation drive will be held in room C1.1.155 in cooperation with the Astana Scientific and Production Center for Transfusiology. From 14:00 to 16:00, Open Space will host consultations with specialist doctors and interactive healthy-lifestyle activities by the AITUSA student government. A neurographics workshop will take place from 15:00 to 16:00.
23 September — family values and prevention of religious extremism day. Open Space will host the lectures “Building Resilience Against Religious Extremism Among Young People” (14:00–14:30) and “Strengthening Family Values” (14:30–15:00), followed by the “Family Values” workshop (15:00–16:00). From 17:00 to 18:00, Student House No. 13 will host the workshop “Family as a Factor in Adaptation and a Student’s Psychological Resource.”
24 September — prevention of addictions, legal and financial literacy day. Open Space will host lectures on drug prevention and combating drug-related crime (14:00–14:30), as well as on modern fraud schemes (14:30–15:00). From 14:00 to 15:00, Atameken Space will host art therapy using metaphorical associative cards.
25 September — physical and intellectual activity day. From 11:00 to 14:00, Open Space will host competitions in Kazakh kuresi, table tennis, arm wrestling, and chess.
