A competition is now open for Astana IT University students to participate in the academic mobility program for the Fall semester of the 2026–2027 academic year!
First-year bachelor’s degree students may apply to study at Kyungpook National University (South Korea) for one semester.
Number of quotas: 5
Study period:
September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 (approximately)
Application deadline: April 6, 2026

National Financial Security Olympiad – 2026
Registration is now open for the National Financial Security Olympiad – 2026 qualifying round.
Participants are invited:
- 1st–2nd year students
- 1st year master's students
(non-graduating courses).

KMG DIGITAL: A New Hackathon Starts – Create Solutions for the Real Sector
LLP “KMG-Kumkol”, with the support of Astana Hub, is holding a hackathon dedicated to innovative solutions at the intersection of technology and real business. The total prize fund is 3,000,000 tenge.
Participants can submit projects in 3 areas: AI in HR, occupational health and safety, and intelligent management of special equipment.
Applications are accepted from March 4 to March 18, and the final will take place on March 30 at Astana Hub. Each track winner will receive 1,000,000 tenge.

Tele2/Altel and Astana IT University have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fields of IT, telecommunications, and cybersecurity
Astana IT University and Tele2/Altel have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in the fields of telecommunications, IT, and cybersecurity. The university will develop educational programs based on industry needs, provide access to its research facilities and laboratories, while Tele2/Altel will support the university with expertise, participate in educational projects, and offer internships for top students.
“Partnership allows students and researchers to work on real business challenges and develop applied research,” said Altair Akhmetov, Rector of Astana IT University.

Astana IT University Hosts Discussion on the Draft Constitution
A meeting was held at Astana IT University with representatives of the Nationwide Coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan!” and deputies of the Astana City Maslikhat, with the participation of students and faculty members. The meeting was attended by Sanira Zhusupova, Head of the Coalition Headquarters for the Esil district, as well as Maslikhat deputies Nurlan Uteshev and Madina Azhikenova. The event was opened and moderated by Altair Akhmetov, Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Astana IT University. The participants introduced the key provisions of the draft new Constitution and emphasized the importance of active civic engagement in the country’s political life. The meeting was held in an open and meaningful dialogue format with students and faculty members.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan visited Astana IT University
During the meeting with the Rector and the university leadership, the parties discussed areas of cooperation in sustainable development, digital competencies, youth initiatives, and the contribution of higher education to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Special emphasis was placed on the role of the university as a platform integrated into the international agenda and focused on developing next-generation human capital. Astana IT University also hosted an open dialogue with students, where participants discussed global transformation, international partnerships, the SDG agenda, and youth engagement in projects of global institutions. “Students of Astana IT University have real opportunities to interact with international organisations, research networks, and expert communities. This creates conditions where education becomes a gateway to an international career path,” noted Rector Altair Akhmetov.
