The procedure for awarding vacant educational grants released in the process of obtaining higher education at Astana IT University LLP

On approval of the Rules for the award of an educational grant to pay for higher or postgraduate education with the award of the degree of "Bachelor" or "Master" Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 23, 2008 No. 58 (as amended on June 8, 2020)

A competition is being announced for 141 vacant places (103 – admission in 2020, 38-admission in 2019) for state educational grants released in the process of obtaining higher and postgraduate education at Astana IT University, by groups of educational programs:

Vacant educational grants released in the process of getting higher or postgraduate education (hereinafter – vacant grants) are awarded on a competitive basis to students on a paid basis for groups of educational programs.

The competition is held based on the results of intermediate certification based on the GPA (Grade Point Average) with the issuance of an educational grant certificate.

An open competition announcement is posted on the Organization of higher and postgraduate education website (educational portal) indicating the number of vacant educational grants in the context of the training direction and course.

In the case of the same GPA (Grade Point Average), students with only A, A- (“excellent”) grades have the pre-emptive right, followed by grades from A, A- (“excellent” ) to B +, B, B-, C + (“good”), then mixed grades for the entire training period.

Awarding of vacant educational grants, released in the process of obtaining higher and (or) postgraduate education, is carried out during the summer and winter holidays to the available vacant places on a competitive basis in the following order:

The student on a fee basis submits an application addressed to the head of the Organization of higher and postgraduate education for further training on an educational grant of higher or postgraduate education;

the applications received are considered at a meeting of the Academic (Scientific) council and the supervisory (board of trustees) council and (or) the board of directors;

Organization of higher and postgraduate education on the basis of the decision of the Academic (Scientific) council and (or) the supervisory (board of trustees) council and (or) the board of directors, by August 5 and January 25 of the current academic year, sends a list of applicants for transfer to vacant educational grants to the authorized body in the field of education for decision making.

The copy of the student’s application, the decision of the Academic (Scientific) Council and (or) the supervisory board (and) the board of directors, an extract from the student’s transcript, a copy of the document proving his identity, and a certificate of the educational grant (original) of the expelled from the organization of higher and postgraduate education holder are attached to the list;

Vacant educational grants, released in the process of obtaining higher and (or) postgraduate education and submitted to the authorized body in the field of education due to the lack of applicants, are redistributed by the commission on a competitive basis;

A list of vacant educational grants that were released in the process of obtaining higher and (or) postgraduate education and submitted by the organization of higher and postgraduate education due to the lack of applicants is published on the website of the authorized body in the field of education;

The competition is held among students on a fee basis from other organizations of higher and postgraduate education who have submitted documents for participation in the competition, in the context of groups of educational programs, courses based on the results of intermediate certification;

The authorized body in the field of education considers the submitted documents in the context of groups of educational programs, forms and terms of study, taking into account the year of admission and, with a positive decision, issues an order for the award of a vacant educational grant of higher and (or) postgraduate education (in the absence of applicants for the group of educational programs, vacant educational grants, released in the process of obtaining higher and (or) postgraduate education, are redistributed within the training direction or field of education);

On the basis of the order of the authorized body in the field of education, the NTC draws up a certificate on the award of an educational grant and transfers it to the appropriate organization of higher and postgraduate education within 3 working days;

On the basis of the certificate on the award of an educational grant, the head of the organization of higher and postgraduate education issues an order for further training on an educational grant.
